DEEPAVALI ASTHANAM ON NOVEMBER 13 IN TIRUMALA SHRINE
Tirumala, Nov 6: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) is set to perform “Deepavali Asthanam’ in connection with Diwali-the festival of lights, in Srivari temple at Tirumala on Novmeber 13.
Every year in the holy month of Aswayuja on the day of Amavasya, ‘Deepavali Asthanam’ will be performed inside the temple near Ghanta Mandapam at Bangaru Vakili after the First bell. This ritual was earlier will be preceded by special rituals like ‘Vishesha Padi’ and presentation of new silk ‘Vastrams’ to the main deity followed by a procession of utsava murthies including Vishwaksena-the chief commander of Lord, taken out around the ‘Vimana Prakaram’ inside the temple in a traditional way by Sriman Tirumala Pedda Jeeyanagar, his team of disciples and other priests.
Following the special occasion, TTD has cancelled Astadalapada Padmaradhana Seva, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Vasanthotsavam and Arjitha Brahmotsavam on that day.
After the ritual, special arti will be rendered to the processional as well as to the presiding deity followed by Prasadam distribution. TTD top brass officials will take part in this festival.
