ANKURARPANAM IN CONNECTION WITH ANNUAL PAVITHROTSAVAM
Tirumala, 28 July 2012 (P.R.O) The processional deity of Lord Senadhipathi is taken out in a procession to Vasantha Mandapam in connection with beginning of Three Day Annual Pavithrotsavam from July 29 to July 31inside Sri Vari Temple, Tirumala on Saturday.
` Ankurarpanam ‘ or the sowing of nine type of holy seeds in earthen containers is undertaken on the day preceding the festival. This ritual signifies the beginning of festival in the temple. This is followed by recital of vedas in a ritual called Mritsangrahana. The rituals on the three days include Thirumanjanam and Homam (prayer to sacrificial fire) to the main deity as well as primary idols of Lord Venkateswara.

3 DAY ANNUAL PAVITHROTSAVAM BEGINS IN SRIVARI TEMPLE
Tirumala, 29 July 2012 (P.R.O) The three-day annual Salakatla Pavitrotsavams commenced in Tirumala temple on a religious note with Pavitra Homam being performed at Yagashala inside hill shrine on Sunday morning.
This ritual was followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam programme which lasted for about two hours where in the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy accompanied by His two Consorts were rendered celestial bath with sandal paste, turmeric, milk, curd and honey.
While in the evening the processional deities took a pleasure ride around the four mada streets blessing the pilgrim devotees who converged to witness the grandeur of Malayappa draped in dazzling gold and diamond jewels.
TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam and Sahasradeeplankara Seva in connection with this annual festival on Sunday in Srivari Temple.
TTD board chief Sri Kanumuru Bapiraju, EO Sri LV Subramanyam, board member Sri Muthyam Reddy, CVSO Sri GVG Ashok Kumar and other temple officials took part in this festival.
PAVITHRALU SAMARPANA WENT OFF IN A COLOURFUL WAY
Tirumala, 30 July 2012 (P.R.O) On the second day of the ongoing three-day annual Salakatla Pavithrotsavam festival in Srivari temple at Tirumala, the holy silk threads, Pavithralu have been adorned to various deities inside the sanctum sanctorum as well as the deities of sub-temples located inside hill shrine on Monday.
After Snapana Tirumanjanam, special puja has been performed to the silk woven holy threads which are in black, blue, red, yellow and green colurs. These threads have been adorned to the processional deities and other deities of various sub-shrines located inside hill temple and also to Sri Bhuvarahaswamy located adjacent to Swamy pushkarini.
These holy silk threads called “Pavithralu” will be woven out of the special variety of high quality cotton which is grown exclusively in the land that is meant to grow Tulsi plant as they are considered to be sacred.

PAVITHROTSAVAMS CONCLUDES ON A RELIGIOUS NOTE
Tirumala, 31 July 2012 (P.R.O) The three-day annual festival of Salakatla Pavithrotsavams concluded on a religious note in Tirumala on Tuesday with Pavithra Purnahuti being performed at Yagashala in the evening inside the Tirumala shrine.
The day began with religious homam at 7am, followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam between 9am to 11am. There will be Visesha Samarpana between 1pm to 4pm followed by Procession of deities and will conclude with Purnahuti which takes place inside the temple in Pavithra Mandapam between 7pm to 9pm.

TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like Kalyanotsavam, unjal seva, arjitha brahmotsavam, vasanthotsavam, sahasra deeplankaraseva and VIP evening break darshan following Pavithrosavams on Tuesday.
