TTD AND ENDOWMENTS DEPT. JOINTLY TO CONDUCT SHRAVANA POURNAMI ACROSS THE STATE ON AUG 2
Tirumala, 29 May 2012 (P.R.O ) TTD and State Endowments Department will jointly organise Shravana Pournami festival across the state on August 2, which happens to be the auspicious birth star of Lord Venkateswara, said Central Dharmic Advisory Council (CDAC) Chairman Sri J Rambabu.
The CDAC meeting held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Tuesday. Speaking on this occasion, the CDAC chief opinioned that TTD should give wide publicity to this mass programme by printing small books and producing CDs explaining the significance of the festival. “The people of the state should celebrate this auspicious day like any other major Hindu festival”, he added. “On July all the temples located in various places should be cleansed on July 27. The local devotees should voluntarily take part in this programme so that the festival could be carried out with grandeur”, he maintained.
Later he said TTD should design some programmes to attract youth and make them know about the great Hindu culture.
The CDAC Chairman said a high level meeting will take place in Hyderabad on June 8 with Endowment Department officials on how to organise this festival in a big way across the state. “Publicity should be given even in the remote villages with the help of “Prachara Rathams”, he added. He also said the HDPP should intensify its activities even in Tamilnadu.
Later EO Sri LV Subramanyam said, TTD’s HDPP wing has already intensified its activities in Karnataka. “the TTD publications and CDs in Telugu will be translated in to other Indian languages to take up the publicity activity in a wide spread manner”, he added.
State Government Dharmika Parishad Chief Sri Veerabhadraiah, HDPP Secretary Sri K Venkat Reddy, Special Officer, Sri Raghunath and other CDAC members Sri Lakshmi Kantham Sresti, Sri Rudraraju Ravi, Sri VL Kantarao, Sri Harivithal Rao, Sri Srinivasaraju Kasbe, Sri Govindahari, Sri MGK Murthy, Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, HDPP secretary Sri Venkatreddy, Sri Raghunath, Sri Umapathi Reddy, Sri Ramanujam, Sri Venkatasharma and other officers of TTD were also present.
