RICH MUSICAL TRIBUTE PAID TO SAINT THYAGARAJA SWAMY IN TIRUPATI

Tirupati 28 April 2012(P.R.O ) Versatile artistes hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Karnataka paid rich tributes to the Musical Saint Sri Thyagaraja Swamy on the occasion of his 245th Birth Anniversary celebrations at Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple in Tirupati on Saturday evening.

The Ghana Raga Pancharatna Brindagana-community singing of the famous Pancharathna Kritis, Divyanama Sankeertans penned by Sri Thyagaraja were rendered by the artistes in the temple.

Earlier procession of Utsava Murthies including the deities of Sri Kodanda Rama, Seetha Ammavaru, Sri Lakshmana varu along with potrait of Saint Thayagaraja was taken around the mada streets of the temple.

Music lovers of Tirupati also took part in the grand fete organised by TTD for the first time in its history. They too joined the carnatic musical extravaganza with gaiety and aplomb and rendered the kritis penned by Nada Brahma Sri Tyagaraja Swamy.

TTD EO Sri LV Subramanyam, JEO Tirupati Sri Venkatrami Reddy, CVSO Sri GVG Ashok Kumar and other important officials also graced the occasion.
