Pranaya Kalahotsavam Performed at Tirumala
Tirumala , Jan 10 :
‘Pranaya Kalahotsavam’ was performed with religious fervour in Tirumala on Tuesday.
It is an unique ritual, where the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy and His two Consorts were brought to the area adjacent to Sri Varaha Swamy temple on separate golden palanquins in opposite directions along the four mada streets from Vaibhavotsava Mandapam.
The priests, on behalf of the two Consorts recited some Pasurams from Alwar Divya Prabandham in Ninda Stuti style (form of praising the lord with apparent criticism).
After that the Consorts threw floral balls at the lord and He tried to escape from them.
Finally, with the lord pacifying His Consorts the ritual came to an end.
The pilgrims who congregated for the event enjoyed every moment of the ritual.
The TTD officials, priests and pilgrims in huge numbers took part in the unique festival.
