No More Free Darshan, Laddus for Srivari Sevaks
Tirumala , june 15:
Tirumala Tirupati Deyasthanams’ (TTD) decision to cancel the laddus and free darshan facility to Srivari Seva Volunteers who are coming from across the country to render free voluntary service to the pilgrims, has come into effect from today onwards.
The sevaks who come to Tirumala have to serve for seven days and on the last day they used to be provided free darshan and also three laddus to each sevak, each at Rs.10 Since the last couple of years, a majority of the sevaks are allegedly misusing their privileges and giving more importance to Kalyanotsavam and other temple duties rather than serving pilgrims.
In this background, the temple management decided to shelve the privileges including the darshan.
How ever, it has provided an additional one-day accommodation in Srivari Seva Sadgha, so that Srivari Sevaks can use that time for darshan possible, in their own money.
TTD has also cancelled temple duties to the Srivari Sevaks including Kalyanot-savam, Sannidhi duties etc and their services will be henceforth utilised in areas where pilgrim interface is more like in Rs.5O tickets, Rs 300 tickets, free darshan, queue lines, health and an-nadanam departments.
